USJFCOM to host training-focused industry day
U.S. Joint Forces Command (USJFCOM) will hold an Industry Day focused on future joint training requirements Feb. 26 at the USJFCOM Joint Warfighting Center (JWFC) in Suffolk, Va.

Command announces 2010 Joint Warfighting Conference speakers

U.S. Joint Forces Command announces the 2010 Joint Warfighting Conference speakers and topics that will be discussed during the three-day conference in May.

(NORFOLK, Va. -  March 24, 2010) –- This year’s Joint Warfighting Conference (JWC) from May 11-13 at the Virginia Beach Convention Center will  feature several influential government and senior military  leaders from both the United States and NATO to discuss  important issues facing future joint warfighters. 

U. S. Joint Forces Command (USJFCOM), the Armed Forces Communications and Electronics Association (AFCEA), the U.S. Naval Institute, National Defense Industrial Associations Greater Hampton Roads Chapter and the local AFCEA Hampton Roads and Tidewater chapters will host the event.

Under Secretary of Defense for Policy Michèle A. Flournoy will deliver the keynote  address on May 11 to begin the Conference.  Later that day, Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Navy Adm. Mike Mullen will deliver the luncheon address. 

NATO Supreme Allied Commander Transformation, French Air Force Gen. Stéphane Abrial, will open the second day on  May 12, followed later in the day by  Army Gen. David H. Petraeus, commander, Central Command, who will speak at lunch via video teleconference.

During the final day, attendees can join Coast Guard Atlantic Area Commander Vice Adm. Robert J. Papp Jr. for the morning keynote speech;  Marine Corps Gen. James N. Mattis, commander, USJFCOM, will  close the conference’s slate of speakers.

During the three days,  the conference will focus on the theme of “Combatant and Coalition Commanders: What Will They Need Five Years From Now?”  and also will feature  several  panel speakers exploring and offering insight on specific  areas of the theme.

 The panels include:

  • Power Shifts: Who’s Up?  Who’s Down? What’s Changing?
  • Fresh from the Fight: What Do Company Level Leaders See as the Threats?
  • What Should Be Done to Secure the Homelands?
  • What Needs to Be Done to Make the Interagency Pieces Work?
  • Battles of Competing Narratives: Why Do They Matter?
  • Small Unit Excellence: What Will It Take?
  • How Do We Fight Through a Digital Meltdown?
  • What Needs to Be Done to Make the Joint/Coalition Force Acquisition Interoperable?

The USJFCOM engagement booth will  feature senior command leaders and subject matter experts from ACT  to   to provide insights relevant to their specific areas. The booth is open from  10 a.m. until 4:30 p.m.  daily during the conference.
