Command announces booth speaker schedule

During the upcoming Joint Warfighting Conference May 12-14, U.S. Joint Forces Command's leaders will be sharing how the organization is supporting the Joint Operational Environment and the Capstone Concept for Joint Operations.

(NORFOLK, Va. - May 1, 2009) -- U.S. Joint Forces Command's (USJFCOM) booth at the Joint Warfighting Conference from May 12-14 at the Convention Center in Virginia Beach, features key command leaders who will provide insight on issues critical to the future of joint force operations

This year's booth theme highlights the Joint Operating Environment (JOE) and the Capstone Concept for Joint Operations (CCJO). The JOE identifies challenges for future joint forces and sets demand signals to address those challenges. Complementing the JOE is the CCJO, signed by the chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff. This document articulates the Chairman's vision for how the future joint force will operate to address the challenges and meet the demands of future operating environments.

Each speaker will discuss how his organization within JFCOM is working to address the issues identified in these documents

The following is the schedule for the USJFCOM booth:

May 12:
10 a.m. Army Maj. Gen. Jason Kamiya, USJFCOM's Joint Warfighting Center commander and USJFCOM director for joint training

10:45 a.m. Navy Capt. Sean Buck, deputy director for strategy and policy directorate

1:30 p.m. James O'Connell, director for the Joint Irregular Warfare Center,

2:15 p.m. Stu Whitehead, executive director Joint Capability Development Directorate

3 p.m. Navy Rear Adm. Dan Davenport, director Joint Concept and Experimentation Directorate

3:45 p.m. John DeFoor, Joint Concept and Experimentation Directorate Concepts CCJO lead

May 13:
10 a.m. Army Maj. Gen. Jason Kamiya, USJFCOM's Joint Warfighting Center commander and USJFCOM director for joint training

10:45 a.m. Joe Purser from the Joint Futures Group on the JOE and its links to the CCJO

1: 30 p.m. Air Force Maj. Gen. Kevin Kennedy, director for the Joint Capability Development Directorate

2:15 p.m. Jeff Brunner, Contract and Acquisition Management Office, and Daniel Judy from the Office of Research and Technology Applications will present "Doing business with USJFCOM in the FAR and Non-FAR realms."

3:45 p.m. Ric Schulz Joint Concept Development and Experimentation Directorate Concepts group lead will speak about the CCJO and JOE

May 14
