Military, industry leaders speaker slate announced for Joint Warfighting Conference Leaders from across the Department of Defense and industry will be on hand to speak as USJFCOM partners with the Armed Forces Communications and Electronics Association, the U.S. Naval Institute and the National Defense Industrial Association to host the Joint Warfighting Conference 2009. By Susy Dodson (NORFOLK, Va. - April 10, 2009) -- U. S. Joint Forces Command (USJFCOM), the Armed Forces Communications and Electronics Association (AFCEA) International, the U.S. Naval Institute, National Defense Industrial Association Greater Hampton Roads Chapter and the local AFCEA Hampton Roads and Tidewater chapters will host speakers from across the Department of Defense and industry during the Joint Warfighting Conference (JWC) 2009 May 12-14, at the Virginia Beach Convention Center in Virginia Beach, Va. Supreme Allied Commander Transformation/Commander USJFCOM Marine Gen. James N. Mattis will give opening remarks at the conference. Other scheduled keynote speakers include the U.S. Army Training and Doctrine Command's Commander Army Gen. Martin E. Dempsey, U.S. Special Operations Command's Commander Navy Adm. Eric T. Olson and Maersk Line, Limited Senior Vice President, Maritime Services, Stephen Carmel. USJFCOM's business manager, Navy Capt. John Polowczyk, said the theme of the conference is "Building a Balanced Joint Force: How Best to Meet the Demands of the Future Security Environment." "The first day centers on discussing the operating environment," Polowczyk said. "Day two focuses on how the force of the future will operate in that environment. During day three we say 'How does all of this impact industry?'"
