Joint Task Force - Horn of Africa for deployment for
service in countries such as Kenya, Somalia, Ethiopia
and Eritrea.

Va. – Jan. 12, 2007) –-U.S. Joint
Forces Command (USJFCOM) will conduct Combined Joint Task
Force - Horn of Africa Mission
Rehearsal Exercise 07-1
starting tomorrow and running through Jan. 18.
The USJFCOM-directed and conducted, and U.S. Central Command
(USCENTCOM) - supported exercise will provide realistic
scenarios to train the incoming Combined Joint Task Force
- Horn of Africa (CJTF-HOA) headquarters staff in preparation
for deployment.
Combined Joint Task Force - Horn of Africa works to help
prevent conflict, promote regional stability and protect
Coalition interests in Kenya, Somalia, Ethiopia, Sudan,
Eritrea, Djibouti and Yemen through humanitarian assistance,
disaster relief, and civic action programs.
The
exercise includes subject matter experts from USCENTCOM
and several interagency organizations. It will take place
at USJFCOM’s Joint
Warfighting Center here.
A group of USJFCOM observer/trainers also will help the
training audience accomplish their training objectives.
Some of those objectives include:
• Use effects-based approach to support planning and campaign
assessment, and enable unity of effort
• Incorporate Horn of Africa regional cultural considerations,
to include integration and coordination with host nation
forces
• Exercise and synchronize key boards, bureaus, centers,
cells and working groups to replicate current CJTF-HOA
battle rhythm
• Incorporate Standing Joint Force
