(NORFOLK, Va., - Nov. 22, 2005) -– U.S. Joint Forces Command (USJFCOM) will host the first in its series of focused forums for fiscal year 2006 Dec. 14.

USJFCOM’s focused forums provide the command an opportunity to share information on joint capability focus areas with industry, academia, and government agencies to discover innovative solutions for specific operational issues.

The forum will begin at 8:30 a.m. at the Chesapeake Conference Center in Chesapeake, Va. The information-sharing event will address challenges in improving USJFCOM’s capability in visualization technologies.

The primary objectives of the forum include examining:
• Terrain visualization capabilities, including time-tagged data visualization, geo-referenced and geo-tagged data visualization, and comprehensive map and data overlays
• Enhanced battle space visualization in mission rehearsal tools
• Enhanced capability to interface with and display information on virtual and constructive forces to live forces and command elements participating in joint training events and programs

The topic of command’s second focused forum on Feb. 16, 2006 will be database integration.

To attend the Dec. 14 focused forum, interested individuals can start their process by clicking here to send an email requesting more information.
