JCSE helps Tampa Bay Rays celebrate pennant - April 13, 2009 (ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. – April 13, 2009 ) -- Members of the Joint Enabling Capability Command's (JECC) Joint Communications Support Element, based at MacDill Air Force Base, Tampa, Fla., participated in the Tampa Bay Rays Opening Day Ceremonies, at Tropicana Field April 13, 2009. As part of the Opening Day Ceremony, four members of JCSE, Army Sgt. 1st Class Fredrick Meyer, Air Force Tech Sgt. Robert Wocking, Army Staff Sgts. Jeffrey Lodick and Christopher Dawson, rappelled from the top of Tropicana Field onto the playing field and, in doing so, simultaneously raised the American League East and American League Championship banners. Following the ceremony, the Rays went on to defeat the New York Yankees 15-5 JCSE provides rapid, reliable, interoperable communications linking joint task force commanders and their staffs to the President, the Secretary of Defense, combatant commanders and their component headquarters, and to ally and coalition partners and is one of the seven unique organizations that allow the JECC to deliver tailored, mission-specific support. As part of U.S. Joint Forces Command, JECC is responsible for the current employment and sustainment of existing joint capabilities as well as identifying new requirements and developing new capabilities for joint force commanders worldwide.
