Joint
Deployment Process Owner (JDPO)
JDPO serves as the full-time DoD focal point
to improve the joint deployment process supporting joint,
multinational, and interagency operations.
JDPO leads DoD collaborative efforts to
improve joint deployment planning and execution through development
of strategic vision and guidance, coordination of initiatives
and improvements related to the joint deployment process
and system, and investigation and promotion of technological
solutions to produce a seamless joint deployment process.
JDPO also recommends and coordinates doctrine, organization,
training and education, materiel, leader development, personnel,
and facilities changes to the joint deployment process and
system with the joint planning and execution community (JPEC).
JDPO's principal role is to maintain overall effectiveness
while improving the joint deployment and redeployment processes
so that all supported joint force commanders and supporting
DoD components can execute them more effectively and efficiently.
Improvements are to be based on sound operational doctrine
and should be supported by information systems, management
techniques, and practices that reflect best practices in
the DoD and the private sector.
JDPO's principal focus is to resolve joint deployment and
redeployment process problems that span functional and organizational
boundaries.
