Intelligence
Directorate (J2)
U.S.
Joint Forces Command’s (USJFCOM) Intelligence Directorate
(J2) supports the command with the intelligence resources and innovative
responses to the complex threats expected on the battlefields of
the 21st century.
USJFCOM provides highly-skilled military and civilian intelligence
personnel to support operational forces. J2 works with the Joint
Staff and national intelligence agencies to identify and provide
commanders with trained and ready intelligence personnel to successfully
complete their missions.
The directorate focuses on implementing continuous improvements
in information technology to ensure the interoperability and integration
of intelligence systems to enhance warfighting capabilities, as
well as developing information systems and network requirements.
J2 is also responsible for ensuring joint intelligence training
programs support joint operations. It provides oversight for developing
doctrine, modeling and simulation systems and tactics, techniques
and procedures used to drive realistic training and exercises.
The requirement for rapid response to threats and targets mandates
the integration of intelligence and operations and development
of new doctrine, organizations, processes, and training to support
emergent operations-intelligence needs.
The
directorate’s
joint intelligence concept development and experimentation program
develops responses to new and emerging
threats and challenges.
The command uses an approach that identifies the critical interactions
among friendly and enemy political, economic, military, social,
information, and infrastructure domains.
