Joint Forces Command cases its colors
The command, established in 1999 to champion getting all branches of the military to work together more closely, cased its colors at a ceremony in Suffolk, Va.

Public Affairs

The Public Affairs Directorate’s job is to inform USJFCOM's military members, civilian government employees and contractors, their families and the American public on key issues relating to the command's mission.

The directorate works with local, national and international media and maintains community relations at the local, regional and national level. It also provides public affairs policy and guidance relating to the command to public affairs officers, military journalists and civilian public affairs specialists worldwide.

The USJFCOM Public Affairs Office produces numerous products to tell the USJFCOM story:
www.jfcom.mil – More than one million people visit USJFCOM's public website every month to see regular updates, news and information.
News Service – Readers can subscribe and receive the latest USJFCOM news via e-mail and RSS.
Media Analysis – The USJFCOM Command Information Office also provides daily media analysis, collecting and summarizing the news of the day for senior leadership.
Media Relations – USJFCOM's Media Relations Office establishes and maintains professional relationships with local, regional, national, and international media. All media requests should go through the Media Relations Office to ensure they get the best information available.
Speaker's Bureau – USJFCOM PAO manages a pool of knowledgeable speakers from throughout the command, available to speak on a variety of topics and key issues.
Article Submission Program – USJFCOM’s PAO also coordinates and reviews for release all articles and materials originating from the command and intended for publication in military trade publications, both government-owned and commercial.
Security and Policy Review – USJFCOM Public Affairs is responsible for conducting security and policy reviews of all material intended for public release and publication.
Hometown News – The USJFCOM Public Affairs Office collects hometown news release forms from the command's military members and submits them to the Fleet Hometown News Service for Navy, Marine Corps and Coast Guard personnel, and the Army & Air Force News Service for Army and Air Force personnel.
