Joint Forces Command cases its colors
The command, established in 1999 to champion getting all branches of the military to work together more closely, cased its colors at a ceremony in Suffolk, Va.


Joint warfighting will continue, Odierno says
The end of the command does not mean the end of joint operations or the emphasis on joint theory in the U.S. military.

Joint Force Judge Advocate
 
U.S. Joint Forces Command’s office of the Joint Force Judge Advocate (J00L) provides legal advice and support to the commander and the command's directorates, staff, and component commands.

J00L is responsible for managing command legal services in all matters of law, particularly in the following areas:
• Operational law
• International law
• Law of war/law of armed conflict
• Air and space law
• Maritime law
• Criminal law
• Tort law
• Litigation
• General military law
• Environmental law
• Standards of conduct
• Ethics
• Labor law
• Procurement law, including intellectual property and innovative engagement with industry/academia
• Fiscal law
• Administrative law
• Civil law

J00L plays a key role in reviewing of policy development and ensuring training conducted at the command conforms to the laws of armed conflict.
